Love In Action
Dear all HOO,
On behalf of Reapfield Shah Alam, I would like to invite you all to our Aidil Fitri openhouse at our office on friday 2nd October 2009. Details attached. Your presence will be much appreciated.
Thanks.
That was the invitation I received more than a week ago from Pn Norashikin Kamarudin of Reapfield Shah Alam and her husband Dr. A Rahman of NR Pusat Diagnostik.

I went to the Aidil Fitri openhouse together with Amelia and Gerard. We were warmly welcomed and after wishing Pn Nora (as she is commonly known amongst Reapfield colleagues) and Dr Rahman and many of our muslim collleagues, we sat down and helped ourselves to a generous spread of a varieties of yummy dishes
David and Serene arrived shortly after that and joined us at our table.

That was what I had on my plate but I won’t tell you whether it was my first, second or third round hehe

I was very happy with what I’ve taken for myself until I saw what Gerard had on his plate (you know it’s him by the pink sleeve) lol
Pls take that in jest ya hehe
The food were delicious and so were the company of colleagues and friends but what I was about to witness left a deep impact on me.

That was one of the boys from Ruman Lampingan Kasih (an orphanage) cutting the ribbon to declare open Dr. Rahman’s new clinic. I don’t know about you but this is the first time I saw a non-VIP officiating at a opening ceremony. Later during his brief speech, Dr. Rahman also told the orphanage management present that he is giving free consultation to all the children if they ever needed his service. When I told Dr. Rahman how touched I was by his deeds (especially the ribbon cutting event), he very humbly said that, “maybe that might inspire the children to want to be a doctor in future”.

The carnival like atmosphere at the Aidil Fitri openhouse. The restaurant serving the yummy food is located just behind the canvas tent.
That was the last picture I took before I left the place. I left with not only memories of a good time but also a fresh reminder that we need to remember the less fortunate in society even as we celebrate our various festivals.
I believe Dr. Rahman and Pn Nora has touched the hearts of the children just by inviting them to the Aidil Fitri openhouse to let them know that they have not been forgotten but I am sure their having one of the boys to cut the ribbon to declare his clinic open have touched the hearts of everyone who were there yesterday.
Thank you for having me at your Aidil Fitri openhouse but most of all thank you for the fresh reminder that our love must be in deeds and not just words alone.
